A
study performed at 3M by the University of Texas at Austin
provided a 15 minute chair massage once per week for nine
weeks for 110 employees. The study showed that chair massage
enhances ones overall well being by:
·
Reducing Stress
· Increasing Quality of Sleep
· Decreasing Depressed Mood Incidences
· Increasing Concentration
· Decreasing Instances of Being Overly Tired or Lacking
Energy
· Decreasing Number of Headaches
Symptoms
of illness decreased for the massage group even four weeks
after the massages had ended. The post study survey indicated
that recipients developed strong, positive opinions about
work site massage programs.
